This Dollar Store Pine Cone Decoration is so quick to make and a pretty centerpiece for the mantle or tablescape for Fall and Thanksgiving and even into Christmas. Plus, the supplies are easily found at the Dollar Tree.

How do you make the Dollar Store Pine Cone Decoration?
These are things you can usually find at the Dollar Tree, and most likely at other dollar stores. You will need:

- a small bag of pine cones (or collect them for free from a pine tree)
- glass candle jar
- 1/3 yd of burlap ribbon
- glue dots (1/2“)
- scissors
The burlap ribbon at Dollar Tree usually comes in 1-3 yd lengths. They have a big variety, and sometimes it’s just the luck of the draw what you find at one particular store. So, if you can just find a plain burlap and not one that’s lacey like the photos, don’t worry about it.

Cut 12 inches of ribbon off the roll.
Attach 2 glue dots to the back of one end of the ribbon. Stick the ribbon centered on the glass jar.
I like to also add another set of glue dots about 6 inches further to keep it really stuck to the glass and not fall down.
Then, wrap the ribbon around the jar, and attach 2 additional glue dots to the back of the end of the ribbon.
Overlap the ribbon and stick the ends together with the glue dots.

Dump the bag of pinecones into the jar.
Now add to the mantle or the table for a beautiful centerpiece.

Wouldn’t this make a pretty addition to a gift basket with tea or coffee and some delicious treats?
How to Make Scented Pine Cones
Unless you find scented pine cones, which I don’t think they have at places like Dollar Tree, this will not be a scented centerpiece. However, there are some DIY ways to make them scented.
- cinnamon essential oil
- ground cinnamon
- cinnamon sticks
You can add cinnamon essential oil to a spray bottle of water. Place the pine cones in a large ziplock bag, and spray them liberally with the cinnamon spray and let them sit until they dry. Then, add them to the jar.
You can lightly paint the pine cones with watered down glue and then sprinkle them with ground cinnamon and let them completely dry before adding to the jar.
Lastly, you can mix cinnamon sticks in with the pine cones when you add them to the jar. This won’t be as strong of a smell as the other methods, but it will give a light spicy scent.
