Dollar Tree Snowman Mason Jar Ornament

Sharing is caring!

I love ornaments that have glitter or flaky fake snow or something I can shake up. This little Snowman Mason Jar Ornament is one of my faves.

Let's make a Snowman Mason Jar Ornament with supplies from the Dollar Tree!

This cute little ornament takes just minutes to put together, and everything comes from the Dollar Tree. Well…except I forgot to buy the fake snow they sell. So, I had to use white iridescent glitter instead. But, the fake snow they sell totally works for this ornament, too.

Here is a similar mason jar Christmas ornament on my main blog that uses the Dollar Tree snow. I actually combined the Dollar Tree fake snow that’s kind of like confetti and glitter with the tiny styrofoam balls of snow together for this ornament.

What do you need to make this Snowman Mason Jar Ornament?

This takes very little. You’ll need:

  • mini mason jar ornament
  • the snowman from the Dollar Tree Christmas village
  • two small bottle brushes (usually found near the Christmas village items)
  • fake snow or glitter
  • hot glue gun

How do you make this Snowman Mason Jar Ornament?

This is a very quick and simple ornament to make.

First, decide the position to the place the snowman and trees on the inside of the lid. Make sure, they are placed away from the very edge of the lid, or the mini mason jar will not be able to be screwed back on.

Once you’ve decided, hot glue them in place.

Place the snowman and trees away from the edge.
hot glue the figures away from the edges, so the lid can screw on easily

Remove the cap from the top of the mason jar ornament and on the inside of the cap add some hot glue to plug the two small holes where the metal loop comes out to hang the ornament. Otherwise, the fake snow or glitter can get out of those holes.

Fill the jar with fake snow.

Once you’ve added hot glue, put the cap back on the top of the ornament. Let it dry for a quick few seconds before adding about a tablespoon of the glitter or fake snow to the jar. Then, screw the lid onto the jar and flip it over.

Now it’s ready to hang on the tree!
